Provides free Internet access to Australian legal materials. AustLII is one of the largest sources of legal materials on the net with over 500,000 searchable documents. The AustLII collection contains full text databases of most Australian decisions and legislation. Current databases include Commonwealth, ACT, NSW and SA legislation and regulations, most federal courts the High Court, Federal Court, Family Court, AAT etc. and many state courts and tribunals.
Previously Tax and Accounting Online. This service combines more than 50 databases including: News services covering the latest tax news and issues; Tax commentaries covering taxes such as capital gains, superannuation and fringe benefits tax; Analytical services covering commentary-style services for a detailed understanding of federal taxation law; Source materials covering primary materials such as legislation, cases, rulings, bills and explanatory memoranda.
Incorporates all content previously published on ComLaw including the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments. Contains Commonwealth primary legislation, as well as other ancillary documents and information.
Allows searching of Australian legislation (Commonwealth and state).
Griffith University does NOT subscribe to the Premium LAWLEX services (Alerts, Commencement Tables, Bill Tracking, Newsfeeds or Monitor) that are offered. Griffith only has access to the free content accessible via the 'Search Legislation' link under the heading 'Lawlex Legislation Alerts and Research'.
The Parliament of Australia site provides access to Hansard, Bills and Bills information, Explanatory memoranda, Committee Reports and the Parliamentary Handbook, and links to Commonwealth legislation.
Thomson Reuters is one of the major producers of legal publications in Australia. It has a development program to make most of its print publications available in an electronic format via its Westlaw web service. Griffith Library has subscriptions to selected electronic products from Thomson Reuters.
The Hansard is the report of the proceedings of the Australian parliament and its committees. This includes the Senate, House of Representatives, the Federation Chamber and all parliamentary committees.
