The Artists’ Books Collection, one of the component collections of the Australian Library of Art, is one of the largest publicly available collections of artists' books in Australia, and is recognised as one of the best in the country. It consists of around 1700 works featuring both Australian and overseas artists.

A collection containing works by international and about 400 books by Australian artists, including Robert Jacks, Bruno Leti, Inge King, Petr Herel, Angela Cavalieri, Peter Lyssiotis, Louise Jennison and Gracia Haby, George Matoulas, Rick Amor, Nicholas Jones and Dianne Longley

To celebrate the opening of Artspace Mackay in February 2003, artist Tate Adams generously donated over three hundred works on paper, artists' books, wood blocks and reference books to the Mackay Regional Council Collection.

The Rare Books Collection holds approximately 350 artists' books ranging from the 1930s to the present. It is one of the premier collections of artists' books in Australian academic libraries. In addition to these limited and unique edition works of art, the Rare Books houses the Lyssiotis collection, the archive of Melbourne artist, Peter Lyssiotis.

The Center for Book Arts is dedicated to exploring and cultivating contemporary aesthetic interpretations of the book as an art object, while preserving the traditional practices of the art of the book.

This directory is being compiled to increase awareness of artists' books collections. It currently contains collections primarily in the United States and Canada. Special thanks to members of the Art Libraries Society (ARLIS) for their contributions.

UWE runs various tertiary courses in the history and making of artists' books, as well as hosts exhibitions, talks, and various other resources. There is a complete archive of previous exhibitions and events available, as well as a regularly published newsletter.

The world’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination, understanding and appreciation of artists’ books. Based in New York and stocks over 15,000 titles by over 600 artists. A number of their works can be viewed through their online exhibitions, online catalogue, or purchased.
