MOBILE ACCESS: EBSCOhost is optimised for mobile use and has an iPhone/iPad and Android app available.
A digital archive of life sciences journal literature, developed and managed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). PubMed Central is not a journal publisher, but rather accepts content from other online journal publishers. BioMed Central (BMC) is a major contributor of its open access journal content to PubMed Central.
The currency and age of material in PubMed Central varies by journal; some making their content available as soon as it is published, while other publishers may delay release of content for anywhere from a few months to a few years after publication. However, the majority provide free access to full text within a year of publication. PubMed Central does not include any unreviewed research or pre-print articles. 'Online First' articles at publisher websites may also not be available in PubMed Central until later.
