The Baillieu Library Print Collection
The Baillieu Library Print Collection is comprised of around 8,000 prints that date from the fifteenth century to the twentieth and is of local, national and international significance. Dr. John Orde Poynton donated 3,700 Old Master prints to the Library in 1959 and since then several thousand prints have been acquired through gifts and purchases.
The collection has great research and interpretive potential. It documents the aesthetic and technical developments of printmaking and includes prints by Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt van Rijn, Francisco de Goya and many of their contemporaries.
The Ian Potter Museum of Art Collection
The Museum has a strong Australian focus, but also covers areas such as classics and archaeology collections, international Indigenous cultural material, decorative arts, and a collection of 20th century poster designs. The collection of contemporary art includes many Australian and international artists who have held residencies at the university. Search their catalogue to find images.
