The primary role of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), a not-for-profit organisation, is to recognise, encourage, promote and celebrate film and television excellence in Australia, connecting Australian and international audiences with great Australian screen content. The Academy serves as Australia’s most prestigious film and television membership body, bringing together and representing screen professionals from a cross-section of the screen industry in order to further screen excellence in Australia.

The Australia New Zealand Screen Association represents the film and television content and distribution industry in Australia and New Zealand.

The Australian Writers’ Guild is the professional association representing writers for stage, screen, radio and online and has protected and promoted their creative and professional interests for 60 years.

Our professional association advocates for the importance of the Screen Studies discipline at a national and international level. As well as fostering a culture of tertiary teaching and research, we promote academic debate and industry engagement and champion a collaborative Screen Studies community.

The Writers Guild Foundation’s mission is to preserve and promote the history and craft of writing for the screen. We’re proud of all we do for the community, including our Veterans Writing Project, our Volunteer and Mentorship Programs, our Archive, and the Shavelson-Webb Library – the world’s only library devoted entirely to writing for the screen.
