Many documents are presented to Parliament each year: some are required to be presented by law, others may just be presented for the general information of Members. Documents presented include the annual reports of all government agencies, reports of royal commissions and other government inquiries, parliamentary committee reports, and a wide variety of other material. Of all the documents presented to Parliament each year, only documents of a substantial nature are included in the Parliamentary Papers series (PPS).

An index to papers presented in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Documents tabled in Parliament include reports from parliamentary committees, annual reports of departments and agencies, reports from the Auditor-General and legislative instruments.

The Register of Committee Reports is a complete list of all House of Representative and Joint Committee Reports from 1901 to the current day.

This register is updated quarterly. Entries are listed by committee name, subject matter and year of tabling.

A Parliamentary Paper is a document which has been: formally presented to a Parliament – this is usually described as being tabled in Parliament, and
ordered by Parliament to be printed – this means that it is available to the public in printed form.
